    Christmas Chocolate

    October 13, 2008 - 1:44 pm No Comments

Christmas is a time for indulgence and there is no better indulgence than chocolate. The chocolate obsession for kids starts way before Christmas day with chocolate advent calendars. Each day they can look forward to counting down from the 1st December to Christmas day by opening a calendar window complete with a chocolate or sweet behind it for them to eat.

Then there are the chocolate tree decorations, these are little foil wrapped festive sweet treats that can be hung on the Christmas tree, although I doubt that they last any longer than a few days with little kids around, but they are a nice idea.

Many people like to take in sweets or boxes of chocolates coming up to Christmas, it’s a way of everyone getting In the festive spirit without drinking liquors!! Everyone can then feel equally guilty when scoffing milk, dark and white chocolates.

If you are dieting around Christmas time you may want to stay clear of the Belgian chocolate or chocolate pralines that are getting passed around work or the home made chocolate cake at the office Christmas party. You don’t have to feel deprived though slimming chocolate comes to the rescue. Its basically less fat and sugar free or reduced sugar ideal for those watching their figures.

Everyone expects to get at least one box of chocolates when they open their Christmas presents. Whether it be a big box or a little one we all like to nibble on some something sweet and delicious while watching television on Christmas night.

Chocolate makes great Christmas gifts whether its for your aunty, friend or mum they will love a deluxe box of soft centres and should you be attending a dinner party a gift of after dinner mints to go with the coffee will be appreciated by all.

Parents like to give the kids novelty chocolate at Christmas time such as a chocolate shaped Christmas tree, Santa or Rudolph or a big chocolate lolly with marshmallow will put a smile on any child’s face.

Most children would eat chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner and generally parents allow them to stuff their faces with selection boxes on Christmas morning which often means that they have no room for Christmas dinner, but Christmas is for kids and one day a year of pure chocolate indulgence wont do any harm however for some people eating lots of chocolate and sweets is not an option in particular diabetics and those who are lactose intolerant.

The good news is that with an ever increasing need for specialist chocolate products there is now a wide range of diabetic and lactose free chocolate available to buy online and on the high street.
